defeat of the persians at Salamis

When the Persians had entered greece the Athenians and their greek allies decided it was time to flee. They fled to the island Salamis. The allies needed one great last stand against the persians, so they snuck a servent to the persian camp and told Xerxes that the Greeks were going to retreat from Salamis. Xerxes beleived the story and had his ships surround the island blocking any escape route for the Greeks. The Greeks were verry good seamen and since the Persians were not in any order the Greeks easily won, and Xerxes fled back to Asia Minor.
